Oops

Well, so it seems like I have been ignoring this little blog of mine. I forgot about it for a bit actually. I had to create an 'edublog' for one of my classes and I have to do regular reflections on there about what is going on at school.

We do a lot of reflecting in this program. A LOT!

We don't just reflect for one class..... we reflect for most, and so it begins to feel repetitive.

Besides the repetitive reflections, classes are going well. Like any kind of schooling there will be classes that we like more than others....which is most certainly the case this semester anyway. I find that I really enjoy our Fine Arts class, and Math class. Whereas I could do without my Social Studies and Social Justice classes. It's not so much that I don't like what we are learning, but we all learn differently and I do not learn very well with the way those 2 professors teach.

We have quite a heavy course load right now. I came home from class yesterday, went immediately to my room, sat at my desk and pulled out my books. Then I stopped and sat back thinking "What the heck am I doing?" I can't do that. Ever heard of a break? I think I am going to make a point of taking the first hour when I come home and just doing what I want / need to do. So I baked cookies yesterday. It was great.

Balance. I think it will be something that will be important to maintain this year.

I just need to keep reminding mysef that I can take the time. I'm feeling a bit of a sore throat today ....... and I'm not even in the schools yet. Gotta get stuff like that under control and take time for me. Apparently that is one thing that most teachers struggle with because there is always more that can be worked on or marked or adapted or refreshed. Setting limits. Hmm.

Good program, good profs, good car pool, good roomate, good bursary = I'm doing alright. Keeping afloat. Sleeping soundly. :)

Glad to hear that things are well. Welcome to the year of reflecting. It seems to be the in thing to do, regardless where you take the program. :)
