It is fabulous to be back at home. We roared in at around dinner time on Monday from Calgary.....and thankfully were able to avoid the accident in Chilliwack by going around. :)
The trip was good. I ended up seeing almost all of my dad's side of the family in Alberta, and had a fabulous time with my friend in Edmonton before we took off for Ontario. Whew.....we have one BIG country! I didn't even go to the very edge, but it was still so huge. I only went as far as Toronto and Ottawa....and that was far enough. The rest I think I will fly to see one day.
I went hiking, to a museum, horse back riding, sand sloshing (sand pits of mud like substance.....so hilarious), road lying (lying in the middle of a country road to see the stars). I hit a dog carrier (no dog) at 120 km/hr that flew off a trailer, then minutes later watched a different trailer that came unhooked role across the road infront of us, and then 3 days later watched part of another trailer roof fly off as it hit the underpass and smattered over the top of my car. Be VERY careful if you ever drive in Ontario!
I saw Ottawa in an evening and Toronto as a drive by, and 5-6 states of America as I was sick in the passenger seat......yeah we still argue as to whether it was heat exhaustion or the flu. :) But I got a night in a hotel out of it! The irony of it all.
People keep asking what my favourite part of the trip was and I would have to say that the sand cliff on lake Erie was the best part. I have always liked sand but I have never seen it in a cliff before and been able to run up and down it. Hmm maybe a 70 ft cliff. I think it might have been bigger but I don't want to exaggerate. I could try to explain it more but I know it won't do any good because I had heard many descriptions of it and was still amazed when I actually got to it. Beautiful.
Oh I had fun! .........and now I'm in school. :)
