Twice in a week I've almost chewed my professors out......which is probably not a great sign. I think I am getting ready to de done with this whole thing called 'university'. I must have had my frustration written all over my face for my last Geography lab, because my instructor came right to my side to answer my question instead of answering it from the front. I needed to know WHY we flip around latitude and longitude for just this one kind of map. In the end the answer was (pretty much) 'because'......which did not help my frustration. I simply have no tolerance for mundane pieces of information that I will have to memorize (and potentially lose marks for on an exam) because someone wanted to change things up a bit!
Then today, I went up to my history prof to ask how I would have found one of our readings online....when it wasn't where the syllabus said it would be. Naturally, I look at the syllabus as being accurate, considering it is the contract between the prof and their students. To make a long story short, he went into a completely different article index (other then the one in the syllabus), and proceeded to find the article under a completely different name!! Then, knowing that 90% of the class could not find the article (seeing as I did a poll right infront of him), he proceeded to collect the summary of the article (all 2 of them, that found it) for one of our participation marks. Agh! How is that professional? What gall!
At one point in my university 'career' I would have been mildly concerned with this kind of behaviour, but now, HA! I almost tore a strip out of him! Maybe I am a 'woe is me student', but I think there is enough crap that we have to put up with, what with all the readings and papers and labs and assignments, that we shouldn't be expected to go over and above to locate a reading that he (in two separate ways) put in the syllabus wrong, and then we get docked marks because we couldn't find it.
If I was legitimately wrong in not finding it, then I would just suck it up, but when I actually looked for it where I was supposed to.....its just not right.
Where does all this pride and gall and frustration come from? I'm pretty sure I know where, and I don't want anything to do with it! I shouldn't be wanting to 'tear a strip' out of my profs. How can I even attempt to be different from the world if I sit there seething with anger. I can't.

woah! you get 10 extra points for adding guilt to seething anger! way to blend your emotions for an even stronger frustration!
Let legit anger run it's course, I say. You are a wonderfully made human -- made by a God who, too, gets angry from time to time.
